Last July 24, our Senior Nursery (AM) students trooped to Serendra for a very special trip – they were the special guests at Marta’s that day! As a culminating activity for their discussion on the Letter Cc and the Very Hungry Caterpillar, a book by Eric Carle, the children had the experience to decorate their own cupcakes and cookies. Our thanks to Ms. Marta who personally prepared and showed the children the various colorful kinds of icing that the children used for their yummy project. Not only were the children armed with delectable icing, they also had a dizzying array of mallows, nuts, and candies. The children had great fun coming up with their original cookies and cupcakes, and they even had more fun eating them afterwards!

The Kinder students had their share of Fun! Fun! Friday. M-m-m-m muffin decorating day was their first. Each student was given a muffin, an icing pack and candies to decorate their muffins with. The kindergarteners put their creativity at work. Once their muffins were adorn tastily, they gulp down the muffins right away during snack time and almost had nothing left to bring home

So who knows how to prepare fruit salad? We do! Teacher taught us! First, you have to make sure your hands are clean. Next, put on your apron so you’ll stay tidy and neat. Then, you have to gather all the things you need – the ingredients and the utensils. Now the procedure starts: slice the fruits, mix in the cream and condensed milk, and stir until Teacher tells you to stop. Then you’d wonder if you can eat your fruit salad already… No not yet! Teacher said you have to put it in the refrigerator and wait, because it tastes better to eat the salad when it’s chilled. So, you wait. And while waiting you can dance to some nice tunes, recite your favorite rhyme, and listen to stories like we did. All the waiting will be worth it, because when you finally put that first spoon in your mouth, having made it yourself, makes it the best fruit salad ever!
