Fridays will be hailed as Special Activity Days at EALC. Every week, the teachers will come up with different extra-curricular (yet still educational) surprises for the children.

The teachers perform "Goldilocks and the Three Bears"
For the very first week of school, we had a puppet show featuring the classic and well-known fairy tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children witnessed stuffed toys get animated to tell the story of the mischievous girl with curly locks, who intruded the home of the Bear Family, ate their food, broke a chair, and slept in their beds.
The children were in awe and watched attentively throughout the program. Some who were initially afraid of puppets also overcame their fears and enjoyed in the end. Afterwards, they got busy making their own bear puppets to re-enact the story, and bring home to show off to Mommy and Daddy. Before going home, the children also enjoyed music and movement together, having a taste of community, and dancing together to tunes like “Clap Your Hands” and the “Telling Time” song. All in all, it was a festive end to the “jittery” first week of classes.
The succeeding week, the children were ready for more fun. They experienced a Movie Date, complete with promotional posters, movie tickets, and of course, popcorn!

- The children watch as popcorn pops.

- Popcorn is scooped into paper bags.

- Popcorn bags are “sold” to the other children.

- Our Feature Presentations: Barney and Hi-5!
The Senior Nursery and Kinder classes took charge of making the posters and tickets, and did it with much effort and creativity. The Juniors classroom was transformed into the commissary for the day, making the popcorn with their amazing popcorn machine! Some children were also tasked to be ticket and popcorn sellers for the day. The “movie-house” was as realistic as possible, dimmed with curtains and laid-out with assigned seats.

- Friendly ticket vendors await to serve.
The younger children enjoyed a short Barney film, while the older students were engaged with a musical celebration of the Hi-5 group. Everyone went home with their souvenir tickets and stories of their special experience at school.
Watch out for upcoming special events. We also welcome comments, suggestions and recommendations. We look forward to your continued support in working with us toward the holistic development of your child.
